Johnson Matthey Stationary Emissions Control Group (JMI) and Cummins Emissions Solutions (CES) have formed an alliance to provide the Cummins Distribution Network with products to help their customers meet the requirements of the Reciprocating Internal Combustion Engine (RICE) National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air (NESHAP) regulation. 

The regulation is estimated to require the installation of after treatment equipment on as many as 19,000 gas engines and 12,000 diesel engines nationwide. The regulation requires the retrofit of existing, stationary, non-emergency diesel engines by May 2013 and the retrofit of gas engines by October 2013. Many of these applications can be found in water treatment facilities, utility plants, electric power and gas compression sites.

Due to the short time-frame of meeting this regulation, Johnson Matthey and CES are offering a dealer incentive program for all orders that are placed in 2012 with JMI. The incentive program will include 2 percent cash back for all orders that are placed and shipped before December 31.

The alliance is unique to allow Cummins to provide after treatment product to support not only current Cummins customers but competitor customers and engine families as well,” says Terry Raupp, Global Distribution Sales Leader.

This partnership positions Cummins Distribution well to capture this significant opportunity across the US. Beginning in December 2011; CES Retrofit Business group has spent much time educating, creating awareness and identifying opportunities within the distribution network to support the business in each of their regions. It is a complicated regulation, however; CES, JMI and Cummins Product Environmental Management continue to work closely with EPA to support current and new customer business.
